The Community Area Plan focuses on all forms of cultural activities including recreation, leisure, sports and the arts and recognises the major contribution this makes to the lives of those residing in the Community Area. It aims to support and sustain a range of cultural opportunities for all residents and visitors.
MADT works with the Marlborough Community Area Strategic Partnership and others to focus on what is special and unique to our area and secure local traditions for generations to come.

In working towards this MADT aims to:

• Encourage community events which create a sense of pride.


• Create opportunities to increase participation in activities that are unique to the local area.


• Support cultural events in the Community Area such as Classic Car Rallies, Activity Fairs etc.

Young People's Dance Festival

The culmination of weeks of dance workshops arrived on Saturday 16th February 2008 in the Memorial Hall at Marlborough College.

Over 200 children and young people got the chance to celebrate by performing for their friends and family. They were involved in the whole process from designing the banner, making the costumes , choosing the music and designing the programme. A great success!

MADT continues to support the We Love Marlborough initiative which aims to provide a cohesive marketing approach to the promotion of arts & culture events taking throughout the year.
